What does KVPY mean?

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) The ongoing National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences is funded and initiated by the Department of Science and Technology of India to attract highly motivated students who are interested in pursuing basic science courses and a career in research. This exam is for students who are interested in starting early and young.

KVPY’s goal is to find students who have the potential and aptitude to do research.
Encourage them to realize their academic potential.
Assure the development of the nation’s top scientists for research and development.

This program aims to identify and encourage students who have the potential to be researchers; to help them reach their academic potential; to encourage them to pursue research careers in Science and to ensure that the country has the best scientists for research and development.

The program is designed to help students realize their potential and ensure that the country has the best research and development talent. KVPY Fellows are granted generous fellowships and contingency grants up to the pre Ph.D. or 5 year old, whichever comes first. KVPY Fellows can also attend summer camps at prestigious educational and research institutions across the country.

The aptitude test does not have a prescribed syllabus. The aptitude test is designed to assess the ability to understand and analyze facts.
