  2. Your name
  3. Only the fields that require corrections are allowed

On page 2, you will find detailed instructions for filling out the correction/enrolment form.

What do the Different Fields Mean in the Aadhar Updaar Update Form?

This is a detailed description of each field on the form so you know what fields to fill when.

1 . Name

This should contain your full name as you are legally known, but without any titles or salutations such as Ms., Mr., Shri, or Dr. You need to substantiate your name with a valid proof of identity such as Passport, PAN Card, Driving Licence, etc. UIDAI also gives a detailed list of documents you can use as proofs at Aadhaar enrolment, correction, or update.

Minor changes can be made to the spelling of your name, but not the actual name. If your name is spelled Rithika and you wish to change it to Ritika, you are allowed to do so without needing to submit additional proofs.

2. Gender

Choose which gender you are – Female, Male, or Transgender.

3. Age OR Date of Birth (DoB)

You must enter the date of your birth in the DDMMYYYY format. For example, if you were born 26 August 1959, the entry will be 2608 1959. You can enter your estimated age in years if you don’t know the exact DoB.

If you have documentation proving your date of birth, tick against “Verified”; if you don’t have any evidence, tick against “Declared”.

4. Address

Your address should be written in detail. Don’t forget to bring your original proof of address with you to the enrolment center for verification. It is important to include your address as the card will not be sent elsewhere. You will not be able to receive your Aadhaar Card if you enter incorrect information.

If you wish to include the name and address of a parent, guardian or spouse, you can choose C/o, D/o, W/o, H/o, or H/o. You can make minor changes to the name field as long as your proof address matches the one you provided.

Your mobile number and email address are also included in this section. This section will contain your mobile number and email address. They will be used to create your registered number.

 5 . Relationship

Aadhaar applicants who are younger than five years old must include the names and Aadhaar numbers of their father, mother, or guardian in the form. This section is not mandatory for adults.

6. Documents

Mention the documents you will be submitting: POI (Proof Of Identity), POA [Proofof Address], DOB (Date and Birth), POR (Proofof Relationship).

7. Using Introducer/HoF

If you don’t have proof of your identity or address, and you are using verification based upon Head of the Family or Introducer (Hof), then you will need to provide Aadhaar/EID number of the Introducer or HoF.
